What am I putting IN my body? What are we eating when we purchase food from the grocery store or in a restaurant? Things are marketed as grassfed, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, cage-free, pastured, free-range, natural, etc. What does all this mean? What am I putting ON my body? Your deodorant, cologne, shampoo and lipstick contain ingredients that might be bad for your health. Most are made with synthetic fragrances and colorings and contain phthalates, which are chemicals that can cause hormonal abnormalities, birth defects and reproductive problems. – What do I SURROUND myself with in my home? How toxic are my scented candles, household cleaners, or mattress? Am I exposed to mold and high levels of EMFs and how can I eliminate those? Consumer demand for cleaner, greener products is high, but there is still a lot of misinformation and miscommunication out there. Manufacturers routinely do something known as greenwashing: using misleading, vague or even false claims about the eco/health benefits of their products. This presentation will help you decode language on labels and learn exactly what to look out for on food, personal care and household cleaning labels.
